I could identify with Mac Stone’s goal of bringing to light a natural environment close to his heart. His message definitely resonated with me. I also wanted to show the resilience of our local wetlands, here in San Diego. It would appear that this kind of introspective look at the affects we have on our environment is becoming a more common theme, which I see as something very positive.
If at least one of my images were able to sway someone to go for a walk through our wetlands, when they normally wouldn’t, I would say I have succeeded. Like Mr. Stone said, aside from political participation; taking a stroll and enjoying the nature around us is the only way for us to continue conservation.
Though this is the end of the semester, it will not be the end of the Lagoons project. I feel that as long as I am a resident of Southern California I will continue to document the rich wetlands that grace our home.
